Job description

We are recruiting for the role of Bar Tender to join our bar and restaurant team on a Full Time basis in the Cork International Hotel.

Key Responsibilities


  • Serve hot and cold beverages and food in a professional, polite, and friendly manner.
  • Prepare and maintain the bar area to ensure it is clean, organised, and ready for service.
  • Stock and restock the bar according to company procedures.
  • Operate the till system and handle cash and card transactions accurately.
  • Keep the bar counter, tables, and service areas clean and tidy at all times.
  • Clear empty glasses and bottles promptly and maintain a clean environment for guests.
  • Assist with receiving and organising stock deliveries.
  • Help prepare and display food service areas in the bar when required.  
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to guest requests or concerns professionally.
  • Report any guest complaints or issues to a supervisor or manager.


Health, Safety & Standards


  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all bar areas.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including fire and emergency procedures.
  • Serve alcohol responsibly and follow all relevant legislation, including age verification.
  • Ensure the safety of guests, colleagues, and yourself while on duty.
  • Help maintain the bar environment, including cleanliness, lighting, and furniture arrangement.


Team & Development


  • Attend training sessions, staff meetings, and development programmes when required.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Follow instructions and support management with any additional duties as required.


 

The ideal candidate:


        2+ years' experience in a similar role.

        Warm, positive personality with genuine interest in guest care

        Team player and also willing to use own initiative when needed
