From our office in the town of Frascati (Rome), CGI Italy helps scientists and entrepreneurs in processing Earth Observation data using cutting edge IT technologies to streamline big data analytics. Thanks to Space application and services we can extract information from satellite data offering solution in several domains including weather, geographical survey bringing value in different sectors like health, transportation, government, agriculture, maritime, oil and gas, trading, finance and insurance.
Earth Observation gives us the possibility to monitor our Planet Earth and to investigate several challenges the humanity is facing like climate change, the Earth’s natural resources and you, can be part of our team as a Back-end Developer.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Develop high quality code for production environment.
- Develop quick prototypes (e.g. based on OSS) to experiment possible solutions for a wide architecture.
- Contribute to the development of scalable and highly-performant distributed systems.
- Be part of an agile team that is continuously learning and improving.
- Take a keen interest in our journey, not just write applications.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- 2-4 years of experience in Java and Java web applications.
- Software development stack with Spring (Framework, Boot, Data, Batch, Security) and design patterns.
- REST/HTTP based services, web frameworks and cloud native applications.
- Modern software practices such as TDD, CI/CD
- APIs and Container Ecosystems (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
- Linux environment experience
- Fluent spoken and written English
Desirable qualifications
- Microservices architectures
- Big data technologies, e.g., noSQL, Apache Hadoop, Spark, Scala
This is a permanent contract position with the possibility to do part of the work activity in smart working.
You will have the opportunity to work in challenging international projects on space technologies.
