SMART Photonics is scaling fast. We are moving from a capable InP foundry to industrial scale production from 4 inch to 6 inch wafers, while integrating with silicon photonics and pushing into real datacom volume. That transition is where things get difficult. And interesting.We are looking for someone who has already lived through that phase and knows exactly where it breaks. you take ownership of our laser technology for data applications at platform level. You operate where device physics, yield, process reality, and customer requirements meet.Your daily job: Define where our InP laser platform for datacom goes next, including DFB and beyondDecide which ideas are worth scaling and which are notPush concepts into stable, manufacturable solutionsWork directly with process, epitaxy, test, and customersDrive technical direction across R&D and production interfacesYou will be externally visible through conferences, consortia, customer engagement, and industry events.You are expected to bring your own ideas, challenge current approaches, and take responsibility for making them work in reality.PhD degree photonics and extensive industrial experience after the PhD, you have worked in the industry and and offer track record bringing photonic devices into real productionStrong expertise in InP PICs and datacom lasers, both from technical point of view as well on the ecosystem surrounding this.
