**Description:** At Grand Hyatt Barcelona, one of the city’s newest luxury landmarks, we are looking for a Pastry Commis Chef to join our Culinary team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for pastry, a positive attitude, and the motivation to work in a dynamic and guest‑focused environment. **About the Role** As Commis Chef in Pastry, you will support the daily operations of our Pastry Kitchen, assisting in the preparation of desserts, baked goods, and sweet creations while ensuring smooth service and high standards at all times. This is a hands‑on role that requires energy, teamwork, attention to detail, and creativity, contributing to a refined and high‑quality pastry offering aligned with Hyatt’s standards. **Key Responsibilities** Assist in the preparation of pastry items according to established recipes and presentation standards Support mise en place for daily pastry production and service Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and pastry areas Follow hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards (HACCP) at all times Handle ingredients correctly, ensuring proper storage and food safety Support the pastry team during service, maintaining consistency and quality Assist with basic preparation adapted to allergies and dietary requirements Clean and maintain pastry equipment, utensils, and working areas Work collaboratively with the Pastry and Kitchen teams to ensure efficient operations Maintain a positive, respectful, and proactive attitude in a multicultural team **Qualifications:** **Requirements & Qualifications** Previous experience as Ayudante de Pastelería or in a similar role (preferred) Basic pastry knowledge and willingness to learn Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) Ability to work in a dynamic environment Team‑oriented, reliable, and flexible attitude Spanish level sufficient for kitchen communication Valid Spanish residency and legal work authorization (mandatory) **Care Connects Us – Do Our Values Speak to You?** At Hyatt, we care for people so they can be their best.
