Project Manager – (Cabling/ICT Infrastructure)

Location: London, UK

Employment Type: Full-time / Permanent

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + 5k Car Allowance


Role Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading ICT infrastructure delivery organisation.


This role is responsible for delivering structured cabling and technology infrastructure projects across enterprise and critical environments. You will manage projects from initial planning and design coordination through to installation, commissioning, and final client handover.

The position is highly client-facing and requires strong commercial awareness, technical understanding, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent delivery workstreams.


Key Duties & Responsibilities


Project Delivery

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of ICT infrastructure projects
  • Define scope, timelines, milestones, and delivery programmes
  • Coordinate installation, commissioning, and handover activities
  • Oversee delivery across multiple live project environments


Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
  • Lead project meetings and provide progress reporting
  • Manage expectations across internal teams, clients, and subcontractors
  • Handle escalations and resolve delivery issues


Commercial & Financial Management

  • Own project budgets, forecasting, and financial performance
  • Track costs, margins, and overall project profitability
  • Manage change control and variation orders
  • Ensure commercial compliance with contractual requirements


Planning & Resource Coordination

  • Coordinate procurement of materials and supply chain activities
  • Schedule engineers, subcontractors, and delivery teams
  • Maintain project programmes and resource planning
  • Ensure smooth transition from design into delivery


Quality, Compliance & Handover

  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards on all sites
  • Maintain quality assurance and project governance standards
  • Oversee completion documentation and handover packs
  • Support project close-out and lessons learned process


Candidate Requirements


Essential

  • Experience in ICT infrastructure, structured cabling, or data centre environments
  • Proven project management experience in technical delivery environments
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle and delivery governance
  • Commercial awareness including budgeting and forecasting
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects


Desirable

  • PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification
  • Experience in data centres, enterprise IT, or banking environments
  • Exposure to subcontractor/vendor management
  • Understanding of structured cabling and network infrastructure
  • Experience working in fast-paced, multi-site delivery environments
