About the role GAIN is seeking to recruit a Project Coordinator to provide field coordination, and performance management for the Enhancing Access to Safe and Nutritious Diets (ENSAND) project implementation across Kaduna and Kano States. The Project Coordinator will act as the bridge between Project partners and state-level teams and government stakeholders, the role ensures technical consistency, operational efficiency, and alignment with programme standards within the context of the ENSAND project result framework.This role will be offered on one (1) year fixed term contract and will be based in Kaduna. This advert closes on 29th May 2026. GAIN encourages early applications and reserves the right to close the advert ahead of the advertised deadline if we receive a high volume of interest.Key Responsibilities include.Provide field oversight and coordination of the project implementation across Kano and Kaduna States, ensuring coherence with the ENSAND project strategy and overall GAIN programme objectives.Coordinate operational planning and performance tracking across Kaduna and Kano, aligning workplans, budgets, and designated deliverables with the overall ENSAND project priorities.Support harmonization of partner activities, ensuring consistency in implementation, data reporting, and quality assurance.Coordinate inter-state collaboration and cross-learning to drive adaptive programming and knowledge exchange.Ensure execution of core programme components (Inputs, Processing, Marketing, Financial Inclusion, Gender, Innovation) within Kano and Kaduna State, ensuring integration and synergy.Facilitate regular review meetings, joint planning sessions, and reflection workshops to strengthen accountability and shared ownership.Monitor progress against performance targets (e.g., job creation, enterprise growth, productivity outcomes) and address implementation bottlenecks.Ensure technical standards, gender inclusion, and safeguarding are embedded across all state-level operations.Conduct routine field visits, spot checks, and quality audits to assess partner performance and compliance.Support the implementation of the Programme Quality Framework and learning systems within partners and state teams.Identify operational risks and implement mitigation measures in collaboration with the project Quality and Risk management teams.Serve as GAIN's focal representative within the designated States, managing relationships with state governments, implementing partners, private sector actors, and development agencies.Strengthen state-level coordination platforms for agrifood transformation, financial inclusion, and youth employment. About you The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background in project coordination with experience managing large-scale agricultural, livelihoods, or private-sector development programmes across multiple states or regions. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and programme coordination skills, experience supervising diverse teams, and a proven ability to manage partnerships with, project implementing partners, government, private sector, and donor agencies.You should possess excellent knowledge of donor-funded project management, financial compliance, and risk management, as well as experience implementing multi-component projects focused on production, market access, and inclusion. Strong planning, analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, alongside a solid understanding of agrifood and market systems approaches, are essential for success in this position.About our offerThe starting gross salary on offer for this role is from NGN14,550,552 gross per annum, depending on experience. Successful candidates will be based in one of GAIN's country offices and must have the existing right to live and work within a reasonably commutable distance of the relevant city / cities in which the role is advertised.
