Electrician - Explora Journeys

JOB PURPOSE An exciting opportunity exists for a world class Electrician to join our newly created luxury travel brand “Explora Journeys”. To oversees the maintenance of all Electrical equipment throughout the Ship and the Engine room. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES •By mutual arrangement with the Chief Electrician, be on board the vessel at any time the First. •Electrician is absent from the ship. •Consult daily with the Chief Electrician concerning methods and procedures for the maintenance and upkeep of the electrical equipment generally within and outside the engine room. •Assign maintenance and repair duties to electricians and actively supervise in any overhaul and repair work. •Inspect all related work in progress, and on completion, assure that manpower is utilized to the fullest extent, that work is executed properly in accordance with acceptable standards and that no wastage of materials occurs. •Assign maintenance duties to his engine department personnel, actively supervising overhaul and repair work. He is to inspect work in progress, and on completion, assuring that manpower is utilized to its fullest extent. •Supervise the use of appropriate material used for maintenance, assuring required safety for personnel and equipment. •Assure correct disposal of garbage to comply with International, National and Company regulations. •He is to train personnel assigned to his engine watch (particularly new personnel) to follow safe working practices, ensuring that functions are fully recognized by each man and that work done and the manner of performance conforms to established standards. •Prepare requisitions and spare parts, submitting them to the Chief Electrician for approval. •Ensure control over the issue and use of materials to prevent waste. •Always operate with the full consideration for the comfort of Guests. QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience) •Fluent in oral and written English (working & Safety language of the Company). •Any additional language is valuable (Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish, Russian or French,..). VISA REQUIREMENTS (if any) Visas and entry documentation for countries and regions in which the ship will operate.
