Or perhaps you’re an ambitious Assistant Buyer ready to take the next step into a role with greater ownership and autonomy? If you thrive on product development, trend spotting and bringing commercially successful ranges to life, this could be the perfect opportunity.

A well-established retail business is looking for a Buyer to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract, starting in July. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key product categories across homewares and food, managing ranges from concept through to launch. It would suit either an established Buyer seeking a varied and collaborative role or an experienced Assistant Buyer eager to step up and expand their commercial responsibility.

Package

  • Salary up to £35,000 depending on experience
  • 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract
  • Hybrid working – 2 days per week in the office
  • Mid-July start to allow for a thorough handover
  • Opportunity to own and develop product categories
  • Collaborative and creative team culture

Company

  • Established retail business with a loyal customer base
  • Focus on thoughtfully curated homewares and food ranges
  • Fast-paced and collaborative commercial environment
  • Hands-on involvement in seasonal planning and product selection

The Role

  • Develop and source commercially successful product ranges
  • Analyse trends, competitor activity and sales performance
  • Build and manage supplier relationships and negotiations
  • Present products during seasonal selection meetings
  • Ensure products are delivered on time and within margin targets

About You

  • Experience within a Buyer or Assistant Buyer role
  • Strong commercial awareness and passion for product
  • Confident managing suppliers and cross-functional relationships
  • Organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Experience within homewares, interiors or food would be advantageous
