JOB DESCRIPTION
Role: Flow Architect / Camunda Process Designer
Mode: Remote
Job Type: Permanet perffered / contract
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end orchestration design for complex workflows (happy path + exception paths) using BPMN
- Translate business intent into executable process designs that account for distributed system realities (timeouts, retries, idempotency, partial failures, and eventual consistency).
- Define process boundaries, start/end conditions, key states, and interaction patterns (messages, signals, timers, escalations, compensations).
- Produce and maintain a concise Process Design Package per initiative (process narrative, BPMN diagrams, exception strategy, variable model, observability requirements).
- Facilitate design workshops with business/ops and engineering stakeholders; challenge and clarify requirements until the flow is coherent and testable.
- Establish and enforce modeling standards and patterns (naming conventions, subprocess structure, and reusable templates) together with the Camunda chapter.
- Partner with engineers to ensure the design is implemented correctly and remains readable and evolvable.
- Define and validate operational readiness: monitoring/alerts, SLIs/SLOs where applicable, incident-handling paths, and process KPIs.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience designing workflows using BPMN 2.0 (or equivalent orchestration/process modeling) in real delivery environments.
- Strong understanding of orchestration in distributed systems: retries, timeouts, idempotency, error handling, compensation/saga patterns.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams: product, operations, architecture, and software engineers.
- Ability to communicate designs clearly (diagram + narrative) and drive alignment across stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in regulated, high-availability environments with strong governance and audit needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Camunda 8 (Zeebe), including modeling for execution and operability
- Experience with event-driven architectures, messaging patterns, and API integration design
- Familiarity with workflow observability and operations (e.g., incident triage, monitoring dashboards, process KPIs)
- Background in banking/financial services or other complex enterprise domains
- Experience defining reusable process patterns libraries and coaching teams on modeling best practices.
