We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Rome team on a permanent contract. In this role, you’ll help us build the foundation of our presence in Italy, collaborating with the city’s most premium and highly regarded restaurants to expand our marketplace.
What You’ll Be DoingYou’ll be joining the Regional Sales team, reporting to the Sales Lead. This is a founding role where you will be the face of Deliveroo in Rome, hunting for new opportunities and helping the best local partners navigate their digital transformation.
Here’s what your day‑to‑day might look like:
- Strategic Prospecting: Map, pitch, and close new restaurants across Rome, acting as a local expert who knows exactly which up‑and‑coming spots customers crave.
- Onboarding Excellence: Support new partners as they join the platform, ensuring a seamless and high‑quality transition into the Deliveroo ecosystem.
- Multi‑channel Communication: Engage with restaurant owners through physical visits, calls, and digital platforms to demonstrate the power of Deliveroo’s technology.
- Problem Solving: Act as a consultant to help restaurant managers overcome barriers or hesitations regarding delivery services.
- Community Networking: Immerse yourself in the local food scene by attending industry meet‑ups and events to build a strong pipeline.
- Proven Sales Experience: Significant experience in targeting new business and a \"hunter\" mindset to drive growth.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to handle commercial negotiations and structure deals that deliver long‑term value.
- Stakeholder Management: Confidence in dealing with premium partners and customers face‑to‑face, via phone, or through email.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the restaurant industry is a significant plus, including the ability to demonstrate product knowledge to clients.
